Hello and Happy (almost) Summer!
As the school year winds down and summer stretches ahead like a blank canvas, I’ve been reflecting on what this season really offers us. It’s so easy to let these weeks slip by—telling ourselves we’ll start later, that we’ll take that leap after we feel more prepared, or once things feel “just right.” But the truth is, time moves whether we’re ready or not. And so often, the things that matter most—the dreams that tug at our hearts—require us to start before we feel ready.
That’s exactly what happened with Lilyfield Candles. For years, my husband and I looked into starting another business. Yes, I said another; the other 2 businesses brought us success but nothing to write home about. However, through the journey, we learned A LOT about business...and what not to do when starting one (painful but vital lessons to learn). It was on January 13th (by the way my favorite number is 13; it reminds me of my dad who passed on September, 13th), when the idea came to me. It felt right so, I finally said yes. Yes to beginning something new. Yes to pouring creativity into something meaningful. Yes to stepping into the unknown (ie; Tik Tok, Instagram to name a few of my steep learning curves I had to overcome). And now, every candle I pour, every message I share, and every light I ignite carries the heartbeat of that decision: to live a Life Lived Well.
This season isn’t just a break—it’s an invitation. An invitation to begin again. To pick up the pen and start writing a new chapter. God has a divine plan for ALL of us; we just have to be still enough to hear it. HE will encourage us to take bold, brave steps toward the life HE has envisioned for you. Whether it’s launching your own dream, setting a new goal, or simply choosing to show up differently—do it now. Let this be the summer you look back on and say, “That’s when everything started to change.”
Even if your next step feels scary or uncertain, don’t wait for perfect timing—it rarely comes. Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone. It happens when we move forward with courage, even when the path isn’t fully clear. My path definitely was not clear, but I trusted God in the direction HE was moving me. If you have God on your side, who can be against you?
So here’s to beginning. To bravery. To bold moves and bright mornings. And to lighting the way—together.
Have an amazing last few days of the school year. Summer is calling… what will you do to create your Life Lived Well?
Sincerely,
Chrissy
